Cisco partner up with Apple to take on security threats

Previously this year, numerous tech corporations experienced crisis as Wanna Cry Ransomware wreaked havoc. Cisco has openly admitted that fraud is proving to be a lucrative game for cybercriminals.

Unfortunately, fraud has become a normal part of doing business- costing an average of 7.5 of total revenue. Apple, whose authority in the enterprising world has been strengthened due to its partnership with Cisco, are using this alliance for good and are developing a new app which will improve cybersecurity.

Cisco, who are also seemingly feeling the spirit of collaboration has released that they’re currently working on a Security Connector application for Apple devices. Makers state that the product will ensure deep visibility control, as well as security for iOS devices by giving a pinpointed perspective of the situations on enterprise-owned mobile devices.

The app has the potential to act as the first line of defence to prevent iOS users from connecting to vicious sites on a multitude of networks, in addition to adding safeguards.

David Ulevitch , senior vice president and general manager of Cisco’s security business explains that “While iOS devices are incredibly secure, organizations still need an increased level of visibility and control across all enterprise devices” “Whether they’re investigating a security incident or trying to increase protection for users on the Internet, visibility and control are fundamental requirements… Now, we’re adding security to help our customers become the most connected, collaborative, and secure businesses in the world.”

Specifically, the app hopes to “ensure compliance of mobile users and their enterprise-owned iOS device during incident investigations by rapidly identifying what happened, whom it affected, and the risk exposure.”
